DISCOVERING AND FALLING IN LOVE WITH THE CITY!
AND WE SHARE THE SAME IDEAS
Strolling by the seventeenth-century walls right below Corso Andrea Podestà, you may come across the road following the ancient route that connected the business center with the residential district on the hill of Carignano: Via degli Archi is just a few steps from the frenetic flow of daily life in Via XX Settembre.
Here, you can jump into the modern Genova, with the atmosphere of other major European cities.
This is the ideal atmosphere for young people, which doesn’t give up on the values of tradition. We took a bet on the future of the city, and on creating new opportunities. The hostel is in the center of the city, right in the ancient Via degli Archi, and is literally inside a city landmark, within one of Genoa’s most representative architectural urban works: the Monumental Bridge. Its arches host the exclusive and brand new built Marathon Hostel.
FALL IN LOVE WITH THE GREAT MARITIME REPUBLIC, WITH ITS MAZE OF CARRUGGI.
MARATHON HOSTEL, YOUR HOSTEL IN THE CITY CENTER.
The location is strategic to discover the city, which is rich in wonders, history and tradition. The shopping street is accessible from the hostel through a staircase, which also leads right to the main square of Genoa, Piazza De Ferrari, where the Palazzo dei Dogi and the magnificent Opera House are located.
De Ferrari is also the main gateway to the historic center of Genoa and included in the Unesco World Heritage List in 2006.
Embedded between the hills and the sea, you can wander around the maze of narrow streets (called carruggi), discover hidden corners and breathe the scent of the sea.
DISCOVER THE CITY
The Marathon Hostel offers organized city tours with its partners. We will provide all the information you need to plan a visit to the largest historic center in Europe, including the Porto Antico and maybe even the sea all the way to Camogli, Portofino, the Abbey on the beach of San Fruttuoso and on to the Baia dei Poeti in Sestri Levante and the Cinque Terre.
On the other side of the Riviera, westwards, you may venture to discover beautiful sandy beaches and many medieval villages that are still well preserved, such as Noli and Finalborgo, just to name a few examples…
